News From The Halesworth Dojang


On Saturday 1st June 2013, nine individual students from the Halesworth Kuk Sool Won School were presented their respective black belt grades at a ceremony held in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. A week earlier the black belt examination had been held for the candidates at the Waterlane Sports Centre. The grading, which consisted in performing all aspects of the martial arts, was conducted in front of a panel of international Master Instructor’s, as well as the Grandmaster and founder of Kuk Sool Won, In Hyuk Suh, 10th Degree Black Belt.



The successful candidates are as follows;

1st Dan Black Belt

JOSHUA MANN, LUCAS COUGHLAN,
BYRON MAYHEW, JOSHUA BUCKLEY, 
TOBIAS SCRIVEN,    
ELIOT DUCKSBURY, 
LUKE DOYLE

2nd Dan Black Belt
BETHANY CLOUTING

There was also special acknowledgment and promotion for long-serving student, David Fulcher who has now become one of only a few people from the Halesworth Kuk Sool School to reach the distinguished level of 4th Degree Black Belt.  David was origionaly the second student to join the School, but had to take some time after severely injuring his back at work.

  
The annual Kuk Sool Won European Championships were once again held at Kings Lynn, Norfolk. Unfortunately this year only three students from the Halesworth School entered the competition this year, however the good news is that they all came away with at least two medals each.

Lowestoft Tournament & Black Belt Success


On Saturday 1st June 2013, the annual Kuk Sool Won European Championships were once again held at Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

Twenty students from the Lowestoft school entered the competition and came away with an amazing haul of 50 medals in total.
10 Gold, 17 silver, 16 bronze and 7 copper. 

As well as participating in the tournament, twenty other individual students from the Lowestoft Kuk Sool Won School were awarded their respective black belts.

There was also special acknowledgment and promotion for long-serving student, Kris French, who has now become one of only a few people to reach the distinguished level of ‘Master Instructor’-5th Degree Black Belt here in the UK. Kris currently works as a Detective Constable, with the Norfolk Constabulary and started his Kuk Sool training at the age of nine years old at the Waterlane Sports Centre.
